5. What is rake? and how is it calculated?
Briefly explained, Rake is how the Poker sites earn their money from you! Rake can vary from site to site but generally the rake is 5% of the pot generated on pots over $5 to a maximum of $3 rake. Some sites offer a “no flop no drop” policy whereas they do not take any rake from hands that do not make the flop. Your rake is calculated (attributed) by taking the actual rake of each pot and dividing it by the amount of players dealt cards in that hand (Dealt Method), or it is divided by the number of players that contributes to the pot i.e big blind, small blind and anyone seeing the flop (Contributed Method). The third method is weighted contributed. This means not only do you have to be dealt in, but, once again, you will have to contribute to the pot in some way. The difference between this method and the “average contributed” method above is that your MGR is figured in direct proportion to the amount of money you put in the pot.
6. What is rakeback and MGR?
MGR stands for Monthly Gross Revenue. Gross Revenue is calculated as the sum total of all Players' contribution to the rake less any bonuses or other promotional amounts given to Players, processing charges, charge backs, or any un-collectable revenue attributable to the Player. The higher your MGR the more money you will earn from rakeback. If your MGR is $1000 and your rakeback percent is 25% your rakeback would be $250.
since the online sites gain money from you, they are willing to give you a piece of that back if you sign up through one of our offers. Each month you will have the percentage of what rake you have created back. So what are you waiting for? Why would you play without rakeback? It's purely free money that you are giving away to the site!
7. Why do I have negative rakeback?
Some poker sites like Full Tilt Poker have deposit fees, so everytime you make a deposit they will calculate some costs, which can make your rakeback total display a negative amount, they also have fees for instance if you use your points to buy in their shop, or play in overlay tourneys (guaranteed prize amount and not enough players to cover the guaranteed prize total), so be careful if you deposit and withdraw a lot, this is usually not a good idea.
